The Color Gun is a device that Robbers can use in LEGO City Undercover and LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins. The color gun allows the player to change the color of LEGO bricks. This can have varying effects depending on the color. Different colors can be obtained by finding Color Swappers, where you can switch out the color you currently have whichever one the Color Swapper has. Color Swappers can be found near locations where you need a specific color.
In LEGO City Undercover[]
In LEGO City Undercover, the color gun is not initially available when you gain Chase McCain's robber disguise but becomes available during Chapter 6 - All in the Family. It is possible to avoid the need for Color Swappers by finding and unlocking Red Brick 37 - Super Color Gun.
This is a list of colors in the game and their abilities:
- Purple: The color you always start off with. Paints objects purple.
- Green: Can be used to turn red Color Gun buttons green and paint objects.
- Red: Can be used to turn green Color Gun buttons red and paint objects.
- Silver: Can be used to make objects deflect lasers and paint objects.
- Blue: Can paint objects for acrobatics and other objects.
- Yellow: Can paint objects.
- Orange: Can paint objects.
- Gold: Can paint objects.
- Brown: Can paint objects.
- Black: Can paint objects.
In LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins[]
In The Chase Begins, the Color Gun is unlocked for Robber characters after You Spin Me Right Round. The only colors for the color gun in this game are red and green to paint green/red Color Gun buttons respectively.

- With the Super Color Gun cheat on, the top portion where the current color is in will appear black with tiny colored dots.
- This is one of the most useful tools as it is needed to obtain many collectibles around the city.
- It is advised to unlock the Super Color Gun cheat, that way you don't have to go and find a color swapper which can be a waste of time.
- In the loading screens for the remasters, the "Color" in Color Gun is spelled as the British dialect for color ("colour").
