Vinnie Pappalardo is a minor antagonist turned supporting character in the video game LEGO City Undercover.
Personality[]
Vinnie has black hair with a quiff, which is greying in some areas. He wears a striped suit and speaks with a Brooklyn accent. He takes his job in the crime world seriously but unlike Rex and Chan, he's shown to be a lot nicer and has a lot of respect for his gang members.
However he isn't afraid to stand up to Rex Fury for not paying him and isn't above torturing in order to get the information he wants. He also makes plenty of euphemisms related to how the mafia takes out their foes, but in a literal sense.
Background[]
When Chase McCain goes undercover, acting like a criminal to get in with the gangs, Vinnie hires him and instructs him to steal objects of value such as cars, equipment and a large emerald to prove his loyalty. He is seen giving McCain missions much like Ellie Phillips and Marion Dunby do. Vinnie owns a very popular ice cream parlor as a front for his massive criminal empire.
Later in the game, Vitus Tinkleman and Maximilian Jarvik lock him in a freezer. When Chase McCain saves him, they capture Jimmy Grossman and ask him questions while rapidly feeding him ice cream. He then tells Vinnie and Chase that he is working for Rex Fury. Vinnie then asks him questions of his own.
He's absent in The Chase Begins, but the player can replicate him with the correct parts in Custom Character mode.
Relationships[]
Chase McCain[]
Upon first meeting, Vinnie welcomes Chase into his gang openly and affectionately nicknames him "Chasey". Throughout the game he gives Chase different items to steal and teaches him how to use his Color Gun during his first heist. Whether their relationship could be romantic or platonic is up to the player.
As the game progresses, Vinnie tells Chase how much he appreciates him and now trusts him fully. That trust is repaid when Chase saves Vinnie from Rex's gang turning against him.
Moe De Luca[]
Being family means the two cousins are close, although Moe is shown to worry a lot for his younger cousin much to Vinnie's chagrin.
Rex Fury[]
The two are shown to be partners in crime, however Vinnie soon becomes fed up with Rex only paying him in paintings rather than actually compensating for everything that was stolen. After the betrayal Vinnie helps Chase in arresting Rex.
How to Unlock[]

Vinnie Clown[]

Vinnie Tracksuit[]
Paint two ice cream scoops in Fresco.
Notes[]
- In the first cutscene he appears, he mentions it's his son's birthday. It's unknown if he's divorced or a widower.
- We know nothing of his family aside from Moe De Luca, other than his mother has a mustache.
- Even though Vinnie is considered one of the main antagonists in the game, he's nice to Chase and even helps him take down Rex Fury. He may be more of an anti-hero.
- He says "yous" for "you" and "youse" for "you" in the plural form.
- He is voiced by John Guerrasio doing an impression of Joe Pesci.
- Guerrasio previously voiced Papa Brickolini and The Brickster in the game Island Xtreme Stunts
- He is unlocked in the Chapter 11 when the player builds him.
- In the mission Hot Property, it's implied that Jethro Hayes used to be part of Vinnie's gang before he "bought the farm", despite the crime lord warning him it was a bad investment.
- Another former member quit to become a night watchman at an aquarium.
- In the remastered edition of the game, one of Frank's loading screens has him mention hearing that Vinnie also owns a shoe store with concrete shoes. However, given how Vinnie's other euphemisms for having people killed have been literal, this may actually be true.
- In a phone call during the special assignment Dirty Work, we learn that Vinnie used to be a burglar in his younger years ("This is like when I used to rob banks myself, 'cept I ain't the one who's risking his neck this time.")
- Vinnie may be a reference to the character Vinnie Antonelli from the film My Blue Heaven
